Guess who’s at the top of the search engine result page for the keyword “John Chow” on Google.com.my? Malaysian blogger LiewCF! In fact, his blog post on John Chow got him to positions #1 and #2 in the SERPs. John Chow is no where on page one. This has probably got to do with JohnChow.com’s demotion from the search engine ranks in Google recently and the fact that the .my version of Google does indeed have a localized slant.

(If you don’t know who John Chow is, he’s the the self-proclaimed dot com mogul who has attracted mass readership for his blog — earning him in excess of $10K a month.)

Digging deeper

However, using SEOChat’s Google Dance tool, both LiewCF’s John Chow post and JohnChow.com were no where on page one of the main Google (non-localized) search and results from the data centers were consistent.

A consolation to John Chow though, he remains #1 in Yahoo! Search and MSN Live Search for his own name.
