I just came across an interesting post by Matt Cutts indicating that there is no difference in Google PageRank treatment between a site hosted on virtual hosting (multiple sites on 1 IP address) versus a site hosted on a dedicated IP address.

Tracking Amazon.com Affiliate Performance for Multiple Sites
November 15th, 2006 by Jason No comments »If you run Amazon.com affiliate links on multiple sites, some of you are probably using a single Associates ID across your sites. This only allows you to see a combined view of your affiliate activity in the reports.
To track the performance of each site, you’ll need a unique Tracking ID per site. There’s no need to create multiple Associate accounts. Multiple Tracking IDs can be added from within your single Associate account.

The text ads will appear alongside Amazon.com’s product pages and search results.
